The Effects of Task-Based Language Teaching on EFL Learners’ Speaking Performance

In spite of the current needs for human resources with ability to communicate using English, most Vietnamese learners still have many difficulties in speaking after a long time study. order tackle this issue English education, Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT) was strongly recommended by Ministry Education and Training aim shift educational view more supportive efficient perspective learners’ communicative competence. context, study conducted explore effects TBLT on EFL students’ performance. This quasi-experimental research carried out 60 participants from hospitality college Ho Chi Minh City. The students experimental group were instructed eight weeks while those control taught conventional method. data gathered via two instruments tests (pre- post-test) measure performance before treatment, questionnaire discover their attitudes towards implementation TBLT. analysis interpretation thanks use software SPSS. Particularly, pre-test post-test scores groups compared terms mean values employment an independent samples t-test. As questionnaire, value standard deviation each item calculated interpreted. findings indicated that significantly improves they positive its classes.
